Hello!

Design, in all its forms, is a tool to make the world around us a little bit better. Be it on a 24" back-lit LED-screen or on smooth 240 gram ivory paper, for me it is about making a piece more accessible, more understandable or simple more beautiful.
When I work you can here the tip of my Tablet Pen going tap-tap, a nice soul-mix streaming out of my speakers and my left hand is all over those sweet keyboard shortcuts. However the greatest feeling is achieving things together with other people, the clash of ideas, force of many wills. So if you to have these feelings, about design, about collaborations and about doing great stuff while having a good time, do not hesitate to get in touch!

What I have done

My Friday Quiz is an entertaining and nicely designed web project; each week a new quiz on a new topic is released. I have given you challenging questions within fields such as typography, constellations and martial arts. Check it out at http://carlpapworth.com/friday-quiz/

HTMLove.net

To understand better the potency of jQuery and JavaScript, I created this project. HTMLove.net is a fun little collection of puzzles, where you most find the heart in each one. Collect all and you will receive all my love and respect. http://htmlove.net

For Götha Kendoklubb

New graphic profile for Götha Kendoklubb, Gothenburg's largest Kendo Club. In my design, Japanese format meets with western typography. Drawing a lot of inspiration from the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, I wanted to create a visual language that appealed to athletes and competitive types rather than your average nipponophile. Photographs where taken by Ida Nordung.

Tills döden skiljer oss åt

Mormors Systrar (Grandmas Sisters) is the name of the really talented and playful jazz-pop trio from Gothenburg. I got the great honors of designing the layout and the typography of there first album. It was such a privilege, and really nice to work with artist Anna Norén's lovely illustrations.

whitelambmusic.com

White Lamb is a lovely pop-duo, with a sound that is both sober, yet sharp as knife. For them I designed a WordPress-site that translated the fragile feeling found in their timbre. I used a lot of transparency, small typography and fade-ins to enhance this feeling.

utt.se

Umeå Tidningstransporter is one of Northern Sweden's largest transport companies. They started out by driving newspapers, but nowadays they move all kinds of stuff: Industrial gas, CPU-technology, groceries, you name it! They were obviously in dire need of a website that, in a clean way, could communicate the essence of their business. So I made this easily updatable and totally dynamic WordPress-site: http://utt.se/

En riktig Carl kan...

Ok, this is one of my mader projects. Basically, it is a campaign for myself (I know... megalomania-warning), where I play on the Swedish word "karl", meaning "man" (in a kind of hefty old-school way), saying "I am a real man that can...". Well, I filmed myself doing a lot of random stuff, than made a nice parallax-scrolling webb, so you will understand that I am really great at doing other not so random stuff, i.e. graphic design, copywrite, and all that jazz! A Wish for a Maniac

For this young metal-core band I made this gritty logo. It is hand made with indian ink, and I kinda went for the "obscure underground cult meats trashy punk esthetics"-look. Enjoy!

Prognostic factors in Renal Cell Carcinoma

I do love typography, and there is something very soothing with editing books. So when my dear mother took her Doctor's degree, I of course took the opportunity to do some InDesign-work. Good typography is, sadly, rare these day in academic publishing, and I hope this will be a little contribution towards redeeming that fact.

Svenska statsnät

A little "how to connect your router"-illustration for Svenska Statsnät. Plain, and simple. 'nuff said.
